Beaver Bonanza
The 9th of May will be a day to remember for the Beavers who attend the 2004 Beaver Bonanza!

District Camp
7 Groups from the District joined together for what has become a well established annual fixture on the Stanmore & District calendar.  It was good to see 53 Beavers join the hundreds of Cubs and Scouts for the day on Saturday.  9th Kenton Beavers received a special mention, and the 16th Edgware Beavers enjoyed their first Beaver Scout Sleep-over!
During the Camp, several competitions took place...
Cub 5 a side - 1st: - 1st Stanmore (Wednesday);  2nd: - 4th Kenton
Cub Disc Challenge - 1st: - 9th Kenton; 2nd: - 1st Stanmore (Tuesday);  3rd: - 1st Harrow Weald
Cub Camping Competition - 1st: - 1st Stanmore;  2nd: - 3rd Kingsbury
Scout 5 a side - 1st: - 1st Stanmore 'A'
Scout Laser Clay Pigeon Shooting - 1st: - Martin Dempsey from 1st Harrow Weald
Scout Sedan Chair Race - 1st: - 16th Edgware 'B'
Watson Shield (for the incident hike) was won by the 1st Stanmore
Congratulations to all those who won!
The District would like to thank the Camp organisers, under the thumb of Eddy, who ensure that everyone had a great time.

District Sports Day
Despite a rather wet Sunday on the 3rd October 2004, a good number of Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and a few Explorer Scouts took part, and here are the results...

District 5 a side football    
This will now be in Feb 2005 ! More details to follow nearer the time.

District Archery and Shooting day
Alpine and Phoenix Explorer Units had a good evening on the 9th of June at Phasels Wood.

Harrow Flag
This took place during the County Scout Camping Competition in May.  Several Groups took part, and congratulations to 1st Harrow Weald for coming 3rd in the County ! Well done!!

Watson Shield
This year, Watson Shield was fought over during a cunning incident hike where the teams had to prove their First Aid, build a bridge over a stream and estimate height.  This was won by the 1st Stanmore Scouts, during the District Camp.

District Swimming Gala
Saturday 30 October 2004
It was great to see so many groups participating in this annual event and every young person given the opportunity to participate for their team. Support from parents and leaders was loudly heard and encouraged many a young person to the finish. Well done to all those that won a medal and for everyone that took part.  The only question is - "Where were the Explorer Scouts?"
Thanks to Richard and Eddy for organising the event, the ghost had obviously got to your microphone and gun early Eddy!!!!

District First Aid Competition   Photos added!!
Congratulations to those who entered the District First Aid Competition on Monday 15^th March 2004. The results were…

1st: - 1st Harrow Weald - 56.5 points (out of 60 points). "Excelled in Fractures"
Tim Harmon, Emma Harmon, Phillip Bateman, Martin Dempsey

2nd: - 16th Edgware - 44.5 points

3rd: - 1/6th Edgware - 41 points

4th: - 2nd Stanmore - 32.5 points
