2008 District Events

Cub 10 Pin Bowling Competition
Congratulations to 3rd Kenton Cubs who won the first ever Phyllis Eltringham Challenge Trophy at the Ten -Pin Bowling Evening on Sunday 12th October 2008. In second place were the 16th Edgware Cubs, closely followed by the 9th Kenton Cubs. Thanks to Keith for organising this inaugural event.

District Camp
A great weekend, and after a bit of rain on Friday, and a very muddy field, we all had a marvellous weekend in the unexpected sunshine with 8 groups represented. It was great to see the Beavers join us on Saturday.

District 5 a side football
Another superb afternoon of football took place at Harrow Leisure Centre on Sunday 9th March. Well done to the teams who entered the competition.

Explorer Scout Bowling
Thank you to everyone who took part in the Bowling Competition in November - a good time was had by the Explorers who attended and the consensus was that it should be repeated next year.

Gold Medals & Trophy to Alpine B (David, Kamal, Samantha, Hannah) with an average of 157 points per person over 2 games
Silver Medals to Alpine A (Maaz, Thomas, Neil, Thomas & Andrew) with an average of 117 points per person over 2 games
Bronze Medals to Phoenix A (Jonathan, Joshua, Ollie, Ron & Bradley) with an average of 157 points per person over 2 games

The highest individual game score was Kamal Patel (Alpine) with 114 on Game 2.

Watson Shield
Congratulations to 3rd Kenton Scouts for coming first in the LaserQuest competition at Broxborne on the 30th March. 1st Harrow Weald were second in this new and unusual activity for the District. Well done to all who took part, and thanks to Matthew for organising the day.

District Sports Day
Unfortunately, due to the heavy rain, it was not possible to hold the Sports Day this year. Thanks to all the eager participants who turned up with brollies in hand just in case.

District Swimming Gala - 2008
This took place on Saturday 9th February 2008, at Barnet Copthall Pools. Well done to those who took part, and thanks with the help!

District Trophies can be engraved at ACE AWARDS. Please pay for this work personally (or group) and submit a claim to the District Treasurer for reimbursement.
9th Kenton have generously paid for a MASTER of the new Scout Logo - so if you would like anything engraved, you should not have to pay for the MASTER to be made first.
