New District minibus

The District has acquired a new District minibus (pictured opposite).  This ‘55’ registration, 17 seater, Ford Transit replaces the 22 year old previous minibus.

In accordance with the current District Strategic Plan agreement was given by the District Executive to purchase a replacement minibus and after some research and exploring the market a very suitable replacement was purchased.  It has now been sign written and had a tow bar fitted and is really for use for camps, day trips, etc.

As with the old minibus it will be sponsored for servicing by Harish’s Auto Services and bookings for its use will be taken via Keith Savage or Graham Franks who can email you a loan request form as well as terms and conditions for its use.  The ‘suggested donations’ for its use, to cover its running costs, are  £40 for an evening, £70 for a day, £100 for a weekend and £300 for a full week.  Please make use of this valuable District asset to enhance your section programmes – it is there for everybody to make use of!

New members!
So far, the Web site has proved to be an effective way that new members can find out about Scouting, and find a group near to them.  Over the past year, I have received several enquires and have been able to place these young people in a Group that met their needs.
