Remembrance Day Parade
We have been invited, by the Mayor of Harrow to take part in this year’s Remembrance Sunday parade and service and would like to see as many Stanmore & District members there as possible. Parents are invited to wear any relatives medals and to be at the Civic Centre, or along the route
We will be meeting in Havelock Place, St Ann’s Road, in central Harrow at 9.30am before forming up at 10.00am to march with the parade to the memorial located outside the Civic Centre for the service starting at 10.45am.
It is anticipated that the service will last for approximately 45 minutes so your child can be collected from outside the main entrance at the Civic Centre at 11.45am.
It is your Group’s, and the District’s, expectation that all members will attend this event and so we hope that as many Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers as possible will be in attendance in full uniform. Please respond on OSM or fill in and return the reply slip (attached) providing the required information to your child’s Section Leader before Thursday 7th November to confirm your child’s attendance.
Please ensure everyone has a good breakfast – this is really important! Leaders and young people will need to wear some warm layers under their full uniform – their uniform MUST be on top as we will be marching and need to display our uniforms – we can wear coats if the weather is very wet or cold. It would be great if each child is also wearing a poppy.
Groups are encouraged to bring their Section or Group flags as well.
Very many thanks
Stanmore & District Team
