“˜To anyone who hasn’t tried Scouting before, I’d say come on up and have a go! I think that most people don’t really know that Scouting is about activities, friendship and meeting people from other countries. I’ve been in the Movement since I was a Beaver and I still love it!”™
Explorers is available to 14 to 18 year olds giving them more adventurous activities and challenges, with opportunities to gain the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and the prestigious Queen Scout Award
“Flexible” is what best describes this section.
Units are generally linked to Scout Troops with in a District but can also form extra units, which are based around various activities i.e. climbing/cycling etc.
This enables members, to be part of several units, depending on their particular interest. More so, they are able to fit scouting, around sitting those all-important exams
Stanmore and District has four Explorer Scout Units (ESU), find one near you:
- Alpine ESU
- Dragons ESU
- Pegasus ESU
